Empowering the Next Generation on the Podium

Berks Sinfonietta’s core identity is built on an intergenerational approach. We foster a vibrant space where seasoned professionals, emerging talents, and eager learners collaborate and grow together. Our Young Conductors program extends this collaborative ethos directly to the conductor’s podium.

For an aspiring conductor, the most crucial learning environment is standing in front of a live ensemble. It is the only true way to practice their instrument! Under the mentorship of Founding Artistic Director Dr. David A. McConnell, rising conductors gain invaluable hands-on experience leading single works, or even full concert programs. with a live orchestra. 

Through direct peer feedback, collaborative learning, and real-time leadership opportunities, we are helping shape the future of orchestral leadership right here in Berks County.
