Berks Sinfonietta Supports the CASA of Berks County Mission to Advocate for Local Children in Need
August, 2023, Reading, PA – Berks Sinfonietta, a renowned local orchestra, is proud to announce its collaboration with Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of Berks County, a non-profit organization dedicated to advocating for abused and neglected children. As part of this partnership, Berks Sinfonietta will be donating tickets to their upcoming concerts to be auctioned at CASA’s highly anticipated Gala of Light fundraiser.
Gala of Light, scheduled for Saturday, September 16th from 5pm to 8pm, will take place at Building 24, located at 1115 Bern Road in Wyomissing, PA. This event promises to be an evening of entertainment, philanthropy, and community engagement, all in support of CASA’s mission to empower volunteers to speak up for vulnerable children within the court system.
CASA of Berks County firmly believes that every child deserves a voice and a caring advocate to champion their best interests. By recruiting and training volunteers who are passionate about making a difference, CASA ensures that children who have suffered abuse or neglect receive the support and guidance they need during challenging times.
“We are thrilled to partner with CASA of Berks County in their noble endeavor to provide a volunteer advocate for every child in need within our community,” said Dr. David McConnell, Artistic Director and Conductor of Berks Sinfonietta. “We recognize the profound impact that a caring adult advocate can have on the lives of these children, and we are honored to contribute to such a worthy cause.”
In Berks County, it costs $2000 to recruit, train, and support a Court Appointed Special Advocate volunteer for one child for one year. By attending CASA’s fundraiser and participating in the auction of Berks Sinfonietta tickets, attendees will not only enjoy a memorable evening of music and community, but also contribute to the recruitment and training of volunteers who will directly impact the lives of children in need.
